PROGRAM
Some of the films illuminating the 4th CaSFFA include:

Opening Night film is THE NOONDAY WITCH (Polednice), which adapts a folkloric ballad by Karel Jaromír Erben, one which has given the heebeegeebees to several generations of Czechs and Slovaks
The greatest film adaptation of Czech and Slovak literature, the peerless mediaeval epic MARKETA LAZAROVA (Markéta Lazarová) with the luminous Magda Vasaryova
A huge box-office hit of 2016 is a tragicomic road movie TIGER THEORY (Teorie tygra) with charismatic Jiri Bartoska.
Alice Nellis' glorious new fairy tale film THE SEVEN RAVENS (Sedmero krkavců), a charmer for all ages
CUTTING IT SHORT (Postřižiny), this much loved comedy is another of Jiří Menzel's beloved collaborations with Bohumil Hrabal
The First Lady of Slovak Theatre, Emilia Vasaryova is mesmerising in EVA NOVA (Eva Nová), a FIPRESCI prize-winner at the Toronto International Film Festival

Closing Night film is Petr Zelenka's absurdist comedy LOST IN MUNICH (Ztraceni v Mnichově), is right on-topic too, centred around one of the more significant documents of the 20th century for Czechs and Slovaks – 1938's despised Munich Agreement.
